  Heat Press Transfers: What to Use When
When it comes to wearables, there are so many fabrics and decoration processes that it can get a bit confusing. But with just a heat press and the right process, you can have a successful heat-printing business. In this session, the Stahls’ experts will help you understand what to use when by guiding you to the right decoration method for every job – and demonstrating how they’re applied. You might even get a chance to show off your heat-printing skills during the session! You’ll learn how to:
  • Choose the right decoration method for large, mid-size and small jobs
  • Make the most of your heat-printing business with a vinyl cutter
  • Add print/cut technology to help win more jobs
  • Use heat-press accessories and platens to customize hard-to-print items
  • Print in full color with just a heat press
  • Screen print with just a heat press
  • Cut, weed and heat print different HTV types
  • Use special-effect transfers to boost your sales
  • Understand the different media types for print/cut systems
  • Troubleshoot common problems.

  Beginner Adobe Illustrator: Master the Fundamentals
(We recommend bringing your own mouse and laptop, loaded with Adobe Illustrator software, to this session.)
In this hands-on session, you’ll become familiar with Adobe Illustrator’s graphical user interface and the workspace, including the Tools panel, the panel system and the all-new Properties panel. You’ll explore the basic elements that make up vector graphics: paths, strokes, fills, anchor points and typography. You’ll also learn how to use each of the program’s powerful drawing tools, including the pen tool, drawing curves and much more.

Note: Laptops and internet access will not be provided, and the instructor will not be able to work on or help fix your laptop. The strategies and training provided in this session will apply to Adobe Illustrator CC through CC 2018.

  Intermediate Adobe Illustrator: Grow Your Skill Set
(We recommend bringing your own mouse and laptop, loaded with Adobe Illustrator software, to this session.)
Once you’ve mastered the basics, it’s time to discover the power and versatility of Adobe Illustrator’s vector artwork. In this project-based, hands-on session you’ll explore tracing bitmap images, manipulating typography, trapping colors for print and creating color separations. You’ll build gradients and apply them to objects to create professional-quality artwork. The session will also highlight some of the most popular features in Illustrator, including The Envelope Warp menu and distorting and transforming objects. Finally, you’ll create a logo and set it up to easily print for decorating almost any product. You’ll leave this session knowing everything you need to create vector artwork for your one-color or multicolor imprints.
