With Three Olympic Gold Medals, combined with 109 career tournament victories, Misty May-Treanor is considered the greatest beach volleyball player in the history of the sport.
After a serious injury/surgery incurred from her appearance on TV’s Dancing With the Stars, Misty showed her resolve, work ethic, and commitment in retaining her standing as the greatest athlete in her sport with her third consecutive Olympic Gold Medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England.
Misty takes great personal pride in being an outstanding role model and making an impact. Misty works with the Special Olympics, Make-A-Wish Foundation and her own educational/clinic curriculum, as well as other causes important to her. Misty is married to Major League Baseball catcher, Matt Treanor.
World-champion athlete Misty May-Treanor holds the record for the most career wins by a female volleyball player – not to mention her three Olympic gold medals in the sport. As a professional athlete, she’s made sacrifices, overcome crippling injuries and exemplified first-class teamwork. And as a mother, wife, coach and role model, she understands the challenges inherent in accomplishing everything that life demands, while still excelling in your career.
In this engaging, motivational keynote conversation, May-Treanor will discuss her experience with:
Communication: Great leaders and winning teammates understand that solid, positive communication can be the difference between success and failure.
Dedication: After many believed she wouldn’t recover from a serious injury and surgery incurred from her appearance on TV’s Dancing With The Stars just three years earlier, May-Treanor proved her resolve, work ethic and commitment to retaining her standing as the greatest athlete in her sport by winning her third consecutive Olympic gold medal in London.
Teamwork: Victory or defeat is directly linked with the people with whom we surround ourselves, and being part of a team requires recognizing your own strengths and weaknesses. May-Treanor is an expert at determining when a team needs leadership and when it needs support.
Commitment and goal setting: After performing at a high level over time, it can be human nature to pull back and become complacent. But by understanding that our overall body of work – not a singular accomplishment – is what matters most, May-Treanor knows first-hand that good leaders can divide, conquer and achieve.
You’ll leave inspired to strive for excellence in your personal and professional life, and with the confidence you need to meet your goals.
